TripKit – Travel Assistant

Last updated: July 26, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to TripKit. This Privacy Policy explains how TripKit (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our Android travel assistant application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

TripKit does not intentionally collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The App does not require you to create an account or provide any personal details to use its features.

All data you enter into the App — including trip dates, destinations, packing lists, shopping lists, and Vault documents — is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted by the App to any external servers.

3. Local Data Storage & Secure Vault

All information entered into TripKit is saved locally on your device. This includes the Secure Vault feature. Items stored in the Vault (such as booking references, personal notes, and passport/document photos) are encrypted locally using industry-standard AES-256 encryption and kept strictly on your device's internal storage.

This data is not accessible by the developer. Because we do not have a backend server, we cannot retrieve, read, or restore your Vault data if you forget your PIN or lose your device.

Please note: By default, the Android operating system may automatically back up your App data to your personal Google Drive account. We do not have access to these backups, and you can manage or disable this backup feature through your device’s Android settings.

4. Internet Access & Third-Party Services

TripKit functions primarily offline. However, the App requires internet access solely to fetch live currency exchange rates. When updating rates, the App sends generic currency codes (e.g., "USD", "EUR") to a public exchange rate API. No personal data, trip details, or Vault information is ever transmitted during this process.

5. App Permissions

TripKit may request the following permissions to function properly:

6. Biometric Authentication

TripKit offers an optional biometric lock feature for the Secure Vault. This uses your device’s built-in biometric authentication system. The App does not access, collect, or store your biometric data. All authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system.

7. Children’s Privacy

TripKit does not intentionally collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is designed to be usable by individuals of all ages.

8. Data Security

Since all data remains on your device, the security of your information depends on your device’s built-in protections, such as screen locks, device encryption, and operating system security features. We recommend keeping your device and its software up to date.

9. Data Deletion

You can delete all App data at any time by:

Warning: Uninstalling the App or clearing its data will permanently delete all photos and documents stored in the Secure Vault.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA) & European Users (GDPR)

Because TripKit does not intentionally collect, sell, or share any personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, delete, or opt out of selling. All data you enter remains solely on your device under your full control.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
